The Birdhouse is whole new experience being on the Applecross peninsula which is accessed by an amazing mountain pass or the NC500 coastal route. Really well themed interior as described and a perfect bolt hole for an enhanced highlands experience whatever the Scottish weather.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kathleen’s Croft, with great access to water and to the mountains. Very peaceful surroundings.

Kathleen’s Croft is a lovely place to stay – if you’re looking for peace and quiet, beautiful views and a cosy place to stay, this is the one.
Thank you for a wonderful week celebrating our anniversary during a grey and rainy June. The Birdhouse was a cosy respite watching the squalls cross the sound and rush overhead! Then suddenly the clouds would clear and we’d see all the isles spread out before us. Applecross is a beautiful place to wander.
A truly wonderful break, totally away from it all. I so love The Birdhouse, I will be back. Cosy, comfortable and characterful with the wood burner in use in the evenings and the central heating, which I used in the mornings, was bliss.
Snug and warm in the cottage. Great walks all around Kathleen’s Croft. Stunning scenery. We’ll be back.
A great time of year to visit Applecross. The Birdhouse is comfy and very characterful, all the recycled materials make it feel part of the landscape.
