Booking Terms & Conditions

Please do read our booking terms and conditions carefully before booking, as these booking conditions shall be deemed to have been accepted by you on payment of the 25% deposit.

The Contract

Northern Escapes act as agents and owners. The contract entered into is between Northern Escapes and the holiday maker (The Holiday Guest). The contract is only effective once the required payment has been received and written confirmation has been sent to the Hirer. The contract is subject to English Law. Northern Escapes is a trading name of Welcome Escapes Limited.

Booking

If reservations for rentals of 1 week duration or more are made more than six weeks before the holiday start date, a deposit of 25% of the total rental cost is payable. The outstanding balance must be paid six weeks before the holiday start date (no reminder is sent). If the booking is made less than six weeks before the holiday start date, or the booking is made for periods of less than 1 week in duration, the entire holiday cost, together with the breakages deposit, must be paid to Northern Escapes at the time of booking. Failure to make full payment at the appropriate time may result in the cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit.

Cancellation

The Holiday Guest is advised to arrange holiday insurance to give protection in the event that they are unable, for any reason, to take up the holiday accommodation at the agreed time. The Holiday Guest should notify Northern Escapes of any cancellation immediately. For any cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to arrival date, the rental deposit of 25% will be returned less £100.00 for administration. If you need to cancel within 6 weeks of the arrival date, then the 25% of the rental will be forfeited. The remainder of the monies will be returned to you IF the property relets less £100.00.

Breakages Deposit

For all cottages a £100 breakages deposit cheque or bank transfer is required at the time of final payment. The cheque will not be cashed and will be destroyed (or returned) at the end of the holiday, but will be kept if the cottage is not left in the clean and tidy condition in which it was found, or to cover the cost of any damage to the property or contents.

Arrivals and Departures

Cottages will be available after 4pm on day of arrival (Friday) and must be vacated by 10am on day of departure. The cottage must be left in the clean and tidy condition in which it was found, locked and the keys must be left in the agreed location

Booking Alteration

Very rarely, and for reasons beyond the control of Northern Escapes, we have to cancel or alter arrangements made for the Holiday Guest – in this event we will contact you as soon as possible to endeavour to find alternative accommodation, or offer a full refund of monies paid to date. We will not accept consequential damages and liability is limited to a full refund of monies paid.

Liability

We accept no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by use of the accommodation and any amenities and such use is at the Holiday Guest’s own risk. The details on the website may be subject to change in the future. The information given on our web site is believed to be correct and true at the time of going to press.

Occupancy

It is not permitted to exceed the maximum occupancy for each cottage.

Non Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside any of our properties.

Pets

Pets may be permitted by prior arrangement

Bed Linen and Towels

Bed linen and towels are provided. Beach towels and tea towels need to be provided by the Holiday guest.

Return of Personal Belongings

In the event of any items being left in the property, Northern Escapes will collect, pack and post the items back to you for a minimum charge of £12.00
